GLOBAL MISSIONS HEALTH CONFERENCE (GMHC):
Syrian Refugee Crisis Experiential Exhibit Design
Human Trafficking Experiential Exhibit Design
The GMHC wished to add an experiential exhibit as part of their three-day conference event. Starting from absolutely nothing, I was part of a two-person creative team that researched the topic, created an overall theme, and space-planned exhibit and traffic flow while working in conjunction with the conference directors. I led the creative direction of all graphics for the full exhibit as well as for all video and exhibit props. I managed all construction of the exhibit and set-up.
The result was a highly impactful experience with long wait lines and strong social media buzz. The client exceeded goals with a substantial increase in awareness of the refugee and human trafficking plight, an increased awareness of the organizations at the conference involved with these crises, and motivating attendees to get involved after leaving the conference. The client received multiple requests to install exhibits at other organizations.
These experiential exhibit projects have been two of the most rewarding professional experiences…and, also two of the most difficult. The topic material that we researched tirelessly for each is sobering, to say the least, and hugely distressing on a humanitarian level. There is a vast amount of research material covering both these topics and we feared that we were leaving so much important information out.
